Diane Arbus and Lisette Model
Lisette Model, Austrian-born American photographer,
inspired her best known pupil Diane Arbus with a direct
and uncompromising focus on her subjects.
Both of these women captured the noble dignity of the
disenfranchised, those on the fringes, "freaks" as
Arbus refered to them.
'Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic
experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've
already passed their test. They're aristocrats.' - DA
